A broad industrial background
I have 50 years of experience across industry, including electrical design, CADD (computer-aided design and drafting), IT, commissioning, industrial controls, and robot safety. This broad background gives me a view of how systems move from design and planning into installation and operation.
Working across these areas has shown me how drawings, electrical design, control systems, installation details, testing, and day-to-day operation connect. I bring that perspective to robot safety by linking identified hazards and safety requirements to the equipment, its controls, verification, and the records teams need to support safe operation.
Focused on robot safety
For 25 years, my work has focused on robot safety. I have completed more than 500 machine and robotic risk assessments. My projects have included automotive manufacturing, robotics integration, automated warehouses, and advanced manufacturing across North America.
Each application starts with the work people need to do and the conditions in which they do it. I consider normal operation, setup, service, recovery, and foreseeable changes to the task. That helps make recommendations fit the actual equipment and workflow.
From design through commissioning
I can support a project from early planning and design review through installation, testing, and commissioning. My background includes electrical design, CADD, IT, and industrial controls, so I can review how requirements, drawings, control designs, records, and field conditions fit together.
For equipment already in service, I can help teams assess hazards, review existing safeguards, identify gaps, and plan practical next steps. When safety functions or controls are involved, the review should connect the required response to its design and to checks that demonstrate how the system behaves.
A practical, evidence-based approach
I work with engineering, operations, maintenance, and safety teams. I explain issues in plain language, document assumptions, and connect recommendations to the information and evidence available. I have also participated in robotics standards committee work, which informs my interest in applying established safety principles to newer robotic applications.
My aim is for people to understand the issue, the next steps, and the limits of a review. The work is scoped to the project and the information provided.
